The Ring Alarm Flood and Freeze Sensor protects your home from water damage and frozen pipes. The sensor alerts you when water is detected or when temperature drops below 40°F (4.4°C), giving you time to prevent costly damage.
The compact disc-shaped sensor (2.95 x 2.95 x 1.06 inches) features a scalloped bottom edge to allow water contact. It communicates via Z-Wave with a 250-foot range to the Ring Alarm Base Station. The CR123A lithium battery provides up to 3 years of operation.
Place sensors behind toilets, under sinks, near water heaters, beside washing machines, in basements, or anywhere water damage could occur. The sensor is designed for indoor use only—while engineered to be air-tight, it's not meant to be submerged.
IMPORTANT: This sensor requires a Ring Alarm or Ring Alarm Pro base station (sold separately). You also need a Ring Protect subscription ($5-$20/month) to receive smartphone notifications. Ring Protect Pro subscription is required for automated phone calls.
Limitation: The 40°F freeze alert threshold cannot be customized, which may cause frequent alerts in naturally cold areas like attics or garages. The sensor does not appear in Alexa app and cannot trigger Alexa routines.
Home Assistant integration requires a third-party custom component, as the official Ring integration does not fully support this sensor.
**NOTE: This product has been discontinued by Ring and is no longer available for purchase through official channels.**
