The SimpliSafe Smart Alarm Indoor Camera is a wireless security camera designed to integrate seamlessly with SimpliSafe's Gen 3 home security system. Recording at 1536p with a unique 1:1 aspect ratio, it offers crisp video in a compact 4.5 x 1.5 x 3 inch form factor.

The camera operates on battery power lasting up to 3 months on a single charge, or can be powered continuously via the included 10-foot micro-USB cable. The AI-powered motion detection distinguishes between humans and pets, with three sensitivity levels and customizable activity zones to reduce false alerts.

A standout feature is the built-in 80dB siren that can trigger during alarms to deter intruders. The privacy shutter automatically closes when the security system is in Home mode and opens when set to Away mode, providing physical privacy assurance.

Integration with SimpliSafe's Fast Protect professional monitoring ($32.99-$79.99/month) enables live guard protection—agents can view the camera feed during alarms and speak through the camera's two-way audio. The motion detector covers a 90-degree horizontal field of view up to 30 feet.

Important limitations: No local storage option—all recordings are cloud-only. SimpliSafe cameras cannot be viewed on Alexa Echo Show or Google Nest Hub displays. Home Assistant integration does NOT support SimpliSafe cameras (only alarm sensors). Apple HomeKit is not supported natively but can be added via Homebridge.

The camera requires a SimpliSafe Gen 3 base station and the latest firmware update. Cloud storage of 30 days is included with monitoring plans, or available separately for $9.99/month.
